Thanks for that one. I wasn't aware of David Rigert and his achievements.
I'm not as familiar with the achievements of Jewish male athletes as I am with those of Jewish female athletes, and that's mostly thanks to Hadassah's "Jewish+Female=Athlete" calendar.

I was in the audience for that contest in 1975. It was billed as Europe vs The Americas which meant Cuba was acutally part of our team. Rigert's lifting was the highlight of the meet. Alexeev was there but did not lift due to an "injury" but it may have been more about to his appearance fee.
